Meet Josh
Because of the Staves of Honor community, we were able to make a large contribution toward a new manual wheelchair for Air Force veteran Joshua Cedeño helping him take a major step forward in independence and mobility.
Joshua served in the U.S. Air Force after enlisting before graduating high school. His enlistment included multiple deployments supporting operations overseas. After his service, life took an unexpected turn. On Labor Day 2021, a tragic boating accident left Joshua with an incomplete spinal cord injury and paralysis from the chest down.
But Joshua didn’t quit.
Through relentless rehab, adaptive sports like wheelchair rugby, and a mindset focused on growth, he’s continued pushing forward…stronger, more capable, and more determined every day. Recently, he reached a point where moving from an electric wheelchair to a manual chair became the next step in reclaiming independence and long-term health.
That’s where our we came in.

Meet Seth
We stepped in when a veteran family was one small step away from stability!
Seth is a 100% disabled Army veteran. He, his wife, their 4-year-old and 6-month-old were trying to get out of a bad housing situation and in the middle of buying a home. The only thing holding up the appraisal was an unfinished bathroom.
So Staves of Honor did what we do, we showed up! We brought in a plumber, purchased a new toilet and vanity and installed them. It may not sound like much, but those seemingly small steps made a huge difference! The appraiser came back, signed off, and this family was able to have a place of their own.
